We invite you to review the first MU Office of Institutional Equity Annual Report. The 2015-2016 Annual Report describes 674 alleged incidents of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, religion, age, genetic identity, or protected veteran status discrimination reported to OCRT9 from Aug. 1, 2015, to July 31, 2016.
Full investigations were requested in 53 matters and the evidence warranted holding 20 people responsible for various violations. To foster respect, 98 students, faculty or staff received targeted education after an allegation of discrimination so that they could better understand our non-discrimination policies and expectations. We also engaged with students, faculty and staff to provide 285 interim remedies, referrals, or other assistance tailored to their needs.We hope that this report will provide you with a sense of the campus climate and demonstrate our efforts to identify, stop, and prevent discrimination and sexual violence. Let there be no doubt—our team and other stakeholders in the MU community are working tirelessly to stop discrimination on campus.
