In Spring 2019, the University of Missouri (MU) participated in the 2019 American Association of Universities (AAU) Campus Climate Survey on Sexual Assault and Misconduct (CCS) in conjunction with 33 other schools. AAU contracted with Westat, a leading social science research firm, to plan, implement, and analyze the survey. Of participating schools, MU was among 21 schools also participating in 2015.
The primary goal of the survey is to inform policies to prevent and respond to sexual assault and other sexual misconduct. The data from the survey helps university administrators formulate policies and practices intended to reduce sexual assault and sexual misconduct on campus and ensure that reports of sexual assault and sexual misconduct are handled with care, compassion, and a commitment to fair and prompt review and resolution.
